We all saw Bright Health make headlines with its impressive $200M funding round, but what the national news outlets neglected to share was that nine of the top ten largest Twin Cities venture capital deals in 2018 were secured by health tech companies, according to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's latest list.

Nine out of ten is a pretty incredible stat, and an obvious indication that the health tech industry here in the Cities is booming. Given habitual investor reluctance to consider Midwest startups, the numbers are impressive; with Bind Benefits Inc. raising $70M and Relievant Medsystems Inc. raising $57.7M, for example.

The growth in health tech is showing no signs of slowing down. We’ll be following this closely as companies continue to innovate and investors inevitably realize how much further their dollars can go within the Twin Cities tech scene.
